We live in interesting times has been used to describe times of turmoil, upheaval and strife such as the covid 19 pandemic.

We are now in such times.

Political anxiety is at an all-time high.

Becoming conscious of our lives is what the turmoil of our world is asking of each of us.

This is a safe place to process the overload of information being directed at our communities.

A place to discuss practical ways to plug into community resources so that we are not isolating from each other … remember, there is power in numbers!

This is a place for each of us to share local resources, practical ideas, and best practices to care for ourselves when under duress. Bring your best ideas/resources for safety/community during these discussions.

The times and stressors will get worse before they get better, and community is the real power to get through.

Being able to process our fears in community and feel heard are often relieving when our own families/friends don't understand the nuances of the impact of decisions that were made at the voting booth.

How to become conscious of our financial support at this time (i.e., spending our money at corporations vs. local businesses, etc.)

  •  What are we supporting?

  •  What do we want to support consciously moving forward?

These are some of the questions we must answer for ourselves, as well as many others.

This is a place of nonjudgement as each of us will be in different places of awareness and with differing needs. A place for learning from each other and building community, forming new understandings of self, and discovering what is needed to find peace in the midst of fear.

Finding and allowing personal peace is the radical act of self-love that is ESPECIALLY required during these times!! This can be done in practical and intentional ways despite the cruelty being demonstrated around us.

The highest order of defense against cruelty is the relationship you have with yourself. Learning to not allow the chaos and cruelty to hijack your self-regulatory system, triggers. etc. will be discussed and emphasized in these groups.

Living in Interesting Times is an 8-week virtual group that allows confidentiality and exploration of holding onto peace and building community.
